Sunwoda Reports Major Uptick in AIDC Energy Orders in First Half of 2026
The first half of 2026 has been a busy period for Sunwoda, with the company seeing a sharp rise in orders for its AI Data Center energy solutions. This demand reflects a broader trend: as AI computing scales up, data centers need more powerful and intelligent energy infrastructure to handle higher power density, faster response times, and smarter management.
CCTV's "Economic Half-Hour" program recently featured Sunwoda's intelligent AIDC manufacturing base, showing the full process from cell production and battery pack assembly to system testing and delivery.
Powering a New Generation of AI Data Centers
Server power density is rising fast, and computing loads are constantly changing. Data centers now need more than just backup power — they require stable delivery, ultra-fast response, and efficient energy management.
Richard Liang, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer of Sunwoda, told CCTV Finance: "We are experiencing the third energy revolution, defined by lower-carbon energy production, intelligent energy management, and increasingly electrified consumption. Energy storage sits at the intersection of all three." He identified AIDC backup power as a critical growth area, noting that "AI computing ultimately runs on power." Safety and intelligent energy management are now must-haves for next-gen data center energy systems, with batteries expanding from emergency backup to load response, power smoothing, and full energy management.
High-Rate Energy Solutions for AIDC Applications
Sunwoda has developed a dedicated AIDC solution with a highly integrated, modular design. Each cabinet can deliver up to 760 kW, reducing equipment footprint and lowering total cost of ownership.
The system supports 5C pulse charging and 10C high-power discharging, responding almost instantly to changes in AI computing loads. It runs on Sunwoda's proprietary 6C and 10C high-rate lithium-ion cells and an 800V high-voltage platform. Prefabricated design minimizes onsite integration and speeds up project timelines. The company is also advancing an integrated "backup power plus energy storage" model to cover a wider range of power and energy management needs.
Integrated Technology and Intelligent Management
Sunwoda brings nearly 30 years of battery development and 10 years of energy storage experience to the table. The company has built a vertically integrated value chain covering cells, battery packs, BMS, integrated BMS, bidirectional DC-DC modules, system integration, testing, and delivery. This end-to-end model ensures optimized performance across cell efficiency, system safety, power response, and manufacturing quality.
A key advantage is Sunwoda's use of industrial AI. The company has deployed its self-developed AI simulation platform across product development and manufacturing. Its next-gen AIDC BMS integrates electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and AI Agent capabilities for more precise cell assessment, early risk detection, and better SOC and SOH estimation.
Scaling Capacity for Global Delivery
Sunwoda is ramping up production capacity for AIDC cells, battery packs, and system integration to meet growing global demand. Two new production lines are set to start in Q3 2026. The company is also advancing overseas capacity plans based on customer needs, with projects expected to roll out from 2027 onward. With high-rate battery technology, intelligent energy management, and scalable manufacturing, Sunwoda is positioning itself as a key player in the energy infrastructure needed to support AI computing growth.
